James Schor M.A., LMFT, CMPC
James Schor’s unique coaching style comes from a broad range of life experience. He spent 20 years as a successful executive in the financial services industry. He played professional sports at the highest level, and he has a life-long commitment to education – both formal and alternative. These pursuits have allowed James to travel the world enriching his understanding of the human experience.
After graduating from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Business, James played professional tennis on the ATP tour competing at both the U.S. and Australian Opens and achieved a world ranking high of 133. He is still ranked in the top 15% of prize money winners all time.
After his professional tennis career, he began a highly successful 20-year career in the financial services industry – all the while he knowing he had a different calling. He returned to school and earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology a second Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology, and he’s certified as an Executive Coach, Life Coach and a Mental Performance Coach. He is also a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.
James’s grounding in Psychology enables him to design developmental experiences that change participants’ behavior rather than just impart information. He brings the unique combination of experience in professional sports, his leadership position in the financial services world, his certification as both an executive coach & mental performance coach, and his training/practice in psychology to support organizations and individuals perform at their peaks.
James started his own focused journey of self-discovery and personal growth in 2002, and he has travelled the country speaking, teaching, and coaching clients to become better leaders personally and professionally since 2005. His clients include former professional athletes from the ATP, MLB, and NFL, as well as a wide variety of industries in business and entertainment. He has consulted with the San Diego Padres and the USPTA. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
