WHY JAMES SCHOR CONSULTING, INC?
Let’s face it; there are a lot of very good leadership development companies out there. When attempting to narrow the field, you are most likely to look for a difference. What is it that sets one company apart from the rest?
Unique: James Schor Consulting, Inc founder played professional tennis at the highest level competing at the US & Australian Opens achieving a world ranking high of 133 and still ranks in the top 15% of prize money winners all-time. He then spent 20 years in the financial services industry completing his career as Managing Director, and he’s earned two (2) Masters Degrees in Psychology. James’s grounding in Psychology enables him to design developmental experiences that change participants’ behavior rather than just impart information. He brings the unique combination of experience in professional sports, his leadership position in the financial services world and his training/practice in psychology to support organizations and individuals perform at their peaks.
Customization: We only create leadership programs that are custom-tailored to the specific needs of the client.
Flexibility: Through our associations with a network of subject matter expert consultants we provide the benefits of working with a large consulting company. Yet, being a small company with little administrative overhead, we are able to provide our clients with cost-effective training, and we are able to respond to changing needs quickly and personally.
If left to inertia or if left unattended to, below are some metrics related to turnover from SHRM – Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM.org) that illustrate the effect on organizations, as well as some statistics from studies regarding the benefits of executive coaching.
Employee departures cost a company time, money, and other resources. Research suggests that direct replacement costs can reach as high as 50%-60% of an employee’s annual salary, with total costs associated with turnover ranging from 90% to 200% of annual salary.4 Examples include turnover costs of $102,000 for a journeyman machinist, $133,000 for an HR manager at an automotive manufacturer, and $150,000 for an accounting professional.5 If these estimates strike you as high, keep in mind that in addition to the obvious direct costs associated with turnover (such as accrued paid time off and replacement expenses), there are numerous other costs.
The ROI from professional coaching is even more astonishing. According to a Manchester Consulting Group study of Fortune 100 executives, the Economic Times reports “coaching resulted in a ROI of almost six times the program cost as well as a 77% improvement in relationships, 67% improvement in teamwork, 61% improvement in job satisfaction and 48% improvement in quality.” Additionally, a study of Fortune 500 telecommunications companies by MatrixGlobal found executive coaching resulted in a 529% ROI. The CIPD concludes “coaching is not just perceived as a nice-to-have intervention.”
If there are any who still doubt that the results of coaching are tangible and impact the bottom line, Fortune Magazine reported that Metropolitan Life Insurance Company enrolled its sales force in an intensive coaching program and found that productivity among those individuals increased by an average of 35%.
