What I Do

SERVICES

LET ME BE CLEAR

The profession of Coaching is work. It is exciting, inspiring, rewarding and a PROFESSION.

I am not an entry level coach, in experience or in fee. I am often hired when the stakes are high and my clients are clear that they are ready for change.

I coach my clients through big life issues – career shifts, divorce, major health crisis, grief and loss, all while championing them to say yes to their deepest heartfelt dreams that will almost certainly trigger their deepest demons.

But as a professional coach I have trained to do the work I do. I have multiple degrees & certifications, two decades of professional experience in business, two decades + of self-development, and I pay my own coaches handsomely to keep growing personally and professionally.

I stand for new ways of being my clients have not integrated yet; and I am asked to meet them at their growth edge with radical honesty (kindly) while having difficult conversations. I create a safe place for this to happen. I never shame, cajole, manipulate, force or push my clients past where they are capable of going. Let me clarify: I will continually illuminate the opportunities available and blow wind in your sails, support you, coach you, teach you, lead by example, be your biggest cheerleader, and I will be your partner as I accompany you on your new journey.

As much as I love being a coach this is hard at times, because I’m human too. In my humanness I want to be liked. I want to please. I want to protect those I care about from hurt and harm. But to do my job well and serve my clients deeply, I must overcome these ego desires and align with serving at deeper levels. It is part of being a professional. This is work I do every day.

SERVICES

As much as I love being a coach...

If I’m really going for it, I have to be willing to offend, upset, sometimes even alienate my clients – although that is never the aim. My aim is to hold nothing back and to say what’s hard even when I’m scared of how you might respond or if you’ll misunderstand the message. That is my commitment to you. There are parts of every job that aren’t awesome. This is one less than awesome scary part of coaching. But like any job if it is worthwhile, you learn to take the hard stuff in stride. I also commit to communicate with kindness and compassion…and even humor sometimes. While, at times, life changing work can feel hard, it can also be loads of fun! And when you make a major shift and start living differently – more in alignment with your truth – that’s the good stuff.

Corporate Development

Your most important assets are your people. Are you supporting them to maximize their personal and professional abilities?

Teambuilding

You are only as strong as your weakest link. Through teambuilding, we ensure your team is working together as one!

Workshops

I offer specialized seminars for groups. In these, we aim to help professionals understand how they can add value to the organization.

Employee Appreciation

We know you appreciate your team, but do they? We help you set processes that allow you to show your team how valued they are.

My name is James Schor, and I am a Professional Coach.

I serve in a leadership position, the most difficult spot to be in as a mentor is when it’s time to clearly address failure, – I don’t use that word anymore – I hold everything as an opportunity for growth, learning and healing. When it’s time to rip off the band aid and absorb the weight of telling someone the hard truth in such a way that they don’t interpret offense from your words rather than receive it as sound guidance, we frame feedback of the situation/ opportunity for growth so that it serves us moving forward rather than keeping us stuck in the past and beating ourselves up.

I use Evidence Based Interventions, Tools and Strategies, which support being more effective and reaching specific targets/goals, as wells as improving overall performance & wellness. Often times, these things are enough to get you where you want to be. SOMETIMES, however, there are unconscious blocks or patterns that were established in childhood that are running the show from underneath the surface.

We aren’t aware that this is happening. We feel like we’ve tried everything, and we know what to do, but we haven’t had real success. We use the tool or employ the strategy for a little while (or a longer while), and we just aren’t able to sustain it, or we are inconsistent, or we self-sabotage (not on purpose), and our frustration/disappointment grows. That’s when we do the deeper work to bring the unconscious to the conscious and release the old patterns that have been running the show…and we create the life we’ve been striving for!

Finally, I am going to share one of my superpowers: I can see the best in you and what’s possible for you…even when you can’t.
